Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 2026. Social Justice Collaborative (“SJC”) is committed to making socialjusticecollaborative.org accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technologies.

Conformance target

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, developed by the W3C. Full, ongoing conformance is a goal; the site may evolve and require periodic improvements.

Measures we take

Semantic HTML and structure

We use logical headings, landmarks (such as navigation and main content), and lists where appropriate, so page structure is clear to screen readers and assistive technologies.

Keyboard navigation

We aim for interactive controls to be usable with the keyboard, with a sensible tab order and visible focus indicators, so people who do not use a mouse can move through the site.

Screen readers and alternative text

We provide meaningful alternative text for informative images and mark decorative elements so assistive technologies can skip them when appropriate. Links and buttons use labels that make sense out of context when possible.

Color contrast

We design color and typography combinations that aim to meet appropriate contrast ratios for text and user interface components under WCAG 2.2 AA, recognizing that new or third-party content needs ongoing review.

Reduced motion

When the user’s system indicates a preference for reduced motion, we aim to limit non-essential animations to reduce distraction or discomfort.

Known limitations

Some sections may rely on PDF documents, embedded video, or third-party widgets we do not fully control. We welcome requests for alternative formats or reasonable assistance. The site may contain occasional markup or legacy content issues that we work to correct over time.

Feedback and assistance

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site or need information in another format, please contact us. Include the page URL, a brief description of the issue, and, if applicable, the assistive technology you use.
