Behavioral Health Program

Behavioral health services are available to all SJC active clients at no additional charge. Our behavioral health workers are part of the legal team and work collaboratively with attorneys and legal assistants to better support client needs.

Services

Social Justice Collaborative is committed to helping clients navigate major life hurdles that prevent them from thriving. Whatever situation clients may be going through, we’ll connect them to the support they need.

Reasons to speak with a behavioral health worker can vary from person to person. You may consider seeking support if you:

  • Experienced a traumatic life event.

  • Notice signs and symptoms of a mental illness.

  • Feel stressed or overwhelmed due to your financial situation.

  • Need assistance with medical/health resources.

  • Facing food insecurities

  • Housing insecurity

  • Safety concerns

  • Alcohol and other substance use

  • System navigation

Our Behavioral Health Workers are available to meet with SJC Clients to provide personalized assistance. Seeking behavioral health services might feel intimidating and overwhelming. However, trained behavioral health professionals will guide you through the process at your comfort level and in a non-judgmental way. You will work collaboratively with your behavioral health worker on a case plan to support your goal.

Social Work Internship Program

Our Behavioral Health Program offers year-round internship opportunities for students in the Master of Social Work program. Interns learn directly from our Behavioral Health Workers, gaining exposure to the field, exploring community resources, and developing their social work skills through practical learning experiences.

For more information about internship opportunities, please contact Polet Diaz at polet@socialjusticecollaborative.org.

Volunteers provide moral support, guidance, and a compassionate presence for immigrants attending court hearings, many of whom may feel overwhelmed or isolated during this process. By accompanying clients to court, volunteers help reduce anxiety, foster a sense of community, and provide an added layer of support that can contribute to a more accountable courtroom environment.

    • Volunteers are trained to offer respectful, non-legal assistance, bridging gaps between clients and the resources they need to navigate the court process with dignity.

    • Please complete the following SJC Immigration Court Accompaniment Volunteer Program Form, it may take 10-15 minutes.
